Alison Moyet plays the Usher Hall with her band, running her 'Songs of Yazoo, the minutes & Other' tour of Yazoo and solo songs.
Alison Moyet plays Usher Hall on Monday 26 October, part of a 34-date run across Europe, the UK and Ireland. The tour is billed as Songs of Yazoo, the minutes & Other, and it takes her back to the catalogue she recorded as the original singer of Yazoo — the duo known as Yazoo in the US.
The set is built around those Yazoo songs, with a few tracks from her later electronica albums the minutes and Other mixed in. It's a specific focus rather than a career overview, so the weight of the night sits with the material from her early years. She's not on her own, either; she'll be joined by her band, Sean McGhee, Brendan Cox and Paul Jones.
Beyond this tour, Moyet is also joining The Human League and Soft Cell on the North American Generations Tour, so this is one of her UK dates this year. The Edinburgh show is for over-14s only, and under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult. Tickets went on sale on 13 March and sold out shortly after, so you'll need to keep an eye on returns if you missed out.
