A new staging of Agatha Christie's mystery with Hercule Poirot, directed by Lucy Bailey, exploring a family's struggle with nostalgia and the future.
Agatha Christie's The Hollow comes to the Festival Theatre from 9 to 13 February 2027, with evening performances at 7.30pm and matinees at 2.30pm. It's a new staging of one of Christie's most powerful stories, and it brings back Hercule Poirot to the stage, played by Peter Polycarpou.
On the surface, The Hollow is a country-house mystery, but it's as much about the family at the centre of it as the crime they're gathered around. It's a portrait of a family clinging to a fading world, caught between nostalgia and the unsettling pull of the future, with Henrietta, a strikingly modern artist, at the heart of it. The version is by Tamsin Oglesby and directed by Lucy Bailey.
This production is staged by Fiery Angel in association with Agatha Christie Limited. It follows the company's sell-out stage tours of And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, as well as Lucy Bailey's hit London show Witness for the Prosecution. The run lasts five days, so there are a few different dates to choose from if you can't make a particular evening.
