Denver Center Theatre Company's production of Shakespeare's The Tempest, a fantastical tale of shipwreck, monsters, romance and revenge, at the Kilstrom Theatre.
The Tempest is running at the Kilstrom Theatre from October 2 through November 1, 2026, produced by the Denver Center Theatre Company. It's William Shakespeare's final masterpiece and one of his most imaginative works—a fantastical tale of shipwreck, monsters, romance, and revenge.
The story centers on the sorcerer Prospero, who's been exiled to a remote island with his daughter, Miranda. When a ship carrying his enemies sails into a storm he conjures, he sees a chance for both revenge and a brighter future for Miranda, ensnaring everyone in a labyrinth of sorcery and misdirection. The production is staged at the Kilstrom Theatre in downtown Denver's Arts Complex, and there's a first-look video previewing the show if you want a glimpse before you go. The company describes it as a blend of mystery and magic that asks what it means to seek justice, reclaim identity, and choose forgiveness over fury.

Logistically, it's a full evening: the run is around two hours and 35 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission. There's also a matinee on Saturday, October 24, at 1:30 PM, which is a good option if a weekday evening doesn't work for you. Tickets range from $41 to $124—that's the base price, which includes a 10% city seat tax, plus an 18% service fee. The Kilstrom is at 1301 13th Street in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
