A musical tribute to Simon & Garfunkel with a live band, video projections, and nearly 30 songs, tracing the duo's journey from Tom & Jerry to their reunion.
The Simon & Garfunkel Story comes to the Buell Theatre on Tuesday, April 20, 2027. It's a stage production that traces the duo's path from their early days as Tom & Jerry to their time as one of the best-selling music groups of the 1960s, through their split in 1970, and up to their 1981 Concert in Central Park reunion, which drew more than half a million fans.
The show works with nearly 30 songs performed by a full live band, backed by video projection, photos, and original film footage. The set leans on the classics you've likely heard a thousand times: 'Mrs. Robinson', 'Cecilia', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', and 'Homeward Bound'. It's a long run of songs, so you'll get a good stretch of their catalog in one night.
Behind the scenes, the production was created and directed by Dean Elliott and produced by Ruckus Entertainment. It's toured internationally, and the story it tells covers the full arc of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel's partnership. Since 1965, they've sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, won 10 GRAMMY Awards, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. They also received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. Art Garfunkel himself once rushed the stage at a performance and declared, 'What a great f------ show!'
