Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! plays at the Buell Theatre from May 11 to 16, 2027, presented by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. It's the musical built around the songs of ABBA, with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and a book by Catherine Johnson, Martin Koch and Stig Anderson.

The story is set on a sun-drenched Greek island and follows a daughter's quest to discover the father she's never known. That search brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited decades ago. It's a small-town setup that opens up as the three men arrive, and the songs of ABBA run through the whole thing.

It's a well-known show with a long history behind it. It was nominated for Best Musical at the 2002 Tony Awards, and for more than 25 years audiences around the world have fallen in love with its characters, its story and its music, which has earned it a reputation as a feel-good show. The Denver run is presented by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the city's official presenter and ticket source.

Tickets range from $40 to $200, and the show runs for about two hours and 15 minutes, which includes one 20-minute intermission. The Buell Theatre is at 14th and Curtis in the downtown Arts Complex.
