Concert by Icelandic singer Daði Freyr at the Summit Music Hall in Denver, with support from BRÍET.
Daði Freyr brings his Too Much, Not Enough tour to Summit Music Hall on Tuesday, October 20, with support from BRÍET. Both acts are coming from Reykjavík, Iceland, so it's a bit of a double-bill from the same city. Freyr is the one most of you will recognize — the singer and songwriter who first made a name for himself on the Eurovision stage, where he became a bit of a global breakout for his brand of bright, melodic pop.
The tour is built around Too Much, Not Enough, and the set will lean on that material. If you've followed him since the early days, you'll hear the newer songs alongside the older ones that first put him on the map. He's known for a sound that's hard to pin to one genre — it's pop, but it's got a distinct Icelandic streak to it, often mixing a certain earnestness with a playful, almost whimsical energy. It's the kind of music that works just as well on a record as it does in a room full of people.
Opening the night is BRÍET, also from Reykjavík. Like Freyr, she's an Icelandic singer-songwriter, and having her on the bill means the whole evening stays within the same musical neighborhood. It's a good way to get the night moving before the main set takes over.

Doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM, so you've got an hour to get settled before the music kicks in. It's a Tuesday night, which is a nice change of pace from the usual weekend rush. Tickets are available through Live Nation.
