A Tony and Grammy Award-winning stage adaptation of the iconic album, a musical journey through music and memory into the heart of Havana.
Buena Vista Social Club comes to the Buell Theatre from April 27 to May 9, 2027, as part of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in downtown's Arts Complex. It's a stage adaptation of the iconic album, a journey through music and memory into the heart of Havana.
The story centers on the legendary Cuban singer Omara Portuondo, known as the 'Queen of Feeling.' Her voice was celebrated throughout Cuba until she vanished from the spotlight, only to be brought back by a young record producer who offers her a rare opportunity to return. From there, the show unfolds as a tale of big dreams, second chances, and music that needs no translation. The Washington Post called it a 'jaw-dropping, soul-stirring must see.'
It's a Tony and Grammy Award-winning production, and the music is the main thing hereβthe same Cuban sound that made the original album a global phenomenon. The show runs about two hours and ten minutes, with one twenty-minute intermission, and it's recommended for ages 8 and up.
