Underground Memphis rapper Xavier Wulf performs live presenting his EP GaragePUNK at the South Side Music Hall.
Xavier Wulf plays South Side Music Hall on Saturday, October 10, at 7 PM. He's touring his latest project, the GaragePUNK EP, which he produced with longtime collaborator Quintan Lamb. Wulf describes the record as channeling the garage and car-shop world he inhabits, and that's a good place to start with who he is.
He's an underground Memphis rapper whose sound blends classic Memphis hip-hop with the high-energy punk, heavy metal, and hardcore that influence him. A lot of that comes from his interests outside the music: street racing, drifting, and anime. He first built a following on YouTube and SoundCloud and was one of the original architects of the Raider Klan collective. Later, he became a core member of SESHOLLOWATERBOYZ alongside BONES, Eddy Baker, and Chris Travis.
Even as he's grown, he's kept a few habits from the early days. He calls his listeners "supporters" rather than fans, and he still takes in beat submissions from them. The GaragePUNK EP continues that connection to the car culture he's always talked about, and it's the material he's bringing to this date.
