Concert by The Linda Lindas, a Los Angeles punk and post-punk band, with support from The Rat Utopia Experiment and Daughters of Evil.
The Linda Lindas play Granada Theater on Saturday, October 31, with The Rat Utopia Experiment and Daughters of Evil opening. It's an all-ages show, so you can bring the kids along if you're not planning on a late night.
The Los Angeles four-piece is touring their second album, No Obligation, which they describe as a mashup of L.A. punk with post-punk, garage rock, power pop, new wave and rock en español. It's a wide net to cast, and that's a good part of the appeal — they aren't sticking to one lane. You'll hear the punk energy they're known for, but there's a lot more going on around it, from the dancey lean of new wave to the Spanish-language influence that's been part of their sound from the start.
If you're coming to them late, the band first went viral with their performance of "Racist, Sexist, Boy" at the LA Public Library. Since then, they've put out tracks like "Too Many Things" and "Revolution / Resolution," and they've built a reputation for writing and recording on their own terms. Lucia and bassist Eloise Wong are still in high school, drummer Mila de la Garza just finished middle school, and Bela Salazar rounds out the group. All four contribute to the writing and take turns on lead vocals, so the songs shift voices throughout the set.

They're also doing something a bit more than just playing the music: the band is partnering with PLUS1 to donate $1 from every ticket sold on the tour to organizations working for equity, access and dignity. It's a small thing that adds up across the whole run.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the music starts at 7:15 PM at Granada Theater, 3524 Greenville Ave.
