Free holiday evening at Sammons Park with an LED Christmas tree, fireworks, a snow playground, a kids' crafting area, miniature golf and photos with Santa.
Reliant Lights Your Holidays returns to Sammons Park on Saturday, December 5, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. It's the AT&T Performing Arts Center's signature holiday event and part of their free annual Festival Series, which means it's open to the public rather than tucked inside a theater. The park, located at 2403 Flora St on the Center's campus, becomes a winter scene for the whole family for the evening.
Thousands of LED lights and a Christmas tree light up the park, and Pyrotex handles the fireworks. Lightware Labs projects holiday images onto the side of the Wyly Theatre, so the light show extends beyond the trees and into the architecture. There's a wintery snow playground with real snow, a kids' crafting area, free miniature golf, and an expanded holiday market. The blinking Santa hats are back, too—they've become a fan favorite over the years.
Several partners help put it together: the David M. Crowley Foundation is the official entertainment sponsor, Lexus sponsors the free photos with Santa, and Reliant is the official energy provider. Between the fireworks, the snow playground, and the market, there's enough going on to keep kids busy while the adults hang back and take in the lights.
