A sensory-friendly autumn evening with exclusive access to Pumpkin Village, featuring a hundred thousand pumpkins and gourds, quiet zones and hands-on activities.
Pumpkins After Hours: A Sensory-Friendly Evening is coming to the Dallas Arboretum on Tuesday, October 20, from 5:30 PM to 8 PM. It's a sensory-friendly night built for smaller crowds, with quiet zones and hands-on fall activities for all ages in a peaceful, welcoming setting. The main draw is exclusive access to Pumpkin Village, which this year is part of the Arboretum's larger autumn tradition, Autumn at the Arboretum.
This season's theme is Harvest Hues, and Pumpkin Village has been reimagined through the lens of modern and contemporary artists. You'll see the village interpreted through the styles of Basquiat, Rothko, Bourgeois, Mondrian, Escher, and Pollock, alongside giant Harvest Hues letters painted by Dallas muralist Alli K. It's a high-art take on a seasonal favorite, so the village feels more like an open-air gallery than a typical pumpkin patch.
Inside the village, there are a hundred thousand pumpkins and gourds, whimsical pumpkin houses, and playful photo spots. The sensory-friendly format means you can take it in without the usual crowds, and the quiet zones are there if you need a break from the activity. It's designed for all ages, so it works as a family outing or just a quiet evening out on your own.
