A hands-on decorating class where participants create and decorate gingerbread houses using premium confections, led by instructor Diana Warsham.
A Tasteful Place at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is hosting a Holiday Gingerbread House decorating class on Saturday, December 5, from 11 AM to 1 PM. It's a hands-on session led by instructor Diana Warsham, and the whole thing takes place inside the Arboretum's lakeside facility at 8525 Garland Rd.
The class is built around decorating gingerbread houses, and the focus is on the candy. You'll use premium confections as your primary building supply, so the candy does the heavy lifting while you figure out the design. The idea is that you get to let your creativity run wild with the sweets until you walk away with a finished holiday masterpiece. It's a project you can tackle with family, friends, or a team from work.
One of the better parts of doing this at the Arboretum is that you don't have to deal with the aftermath. Since it's a class, you get the decorating part without the post-baking cleanup stress that usually comes with making gingerbread at home. You spend the two hours building and decorating, and then you just take your house with you.
