Dallas premiere of the new musical Mystic Pizza, inspired by the 1988 film, with 80s and 90s hits.
Mystic Pizza: A New Musical opens at the Winspear Opera House on November 20, 2026, and runs through November 22. It's the Dallas premiere of a stage adaptation of the 1988 rom-com, and it's kicking off the 2026-2027 Broadway at the Center season, presented by Reliant.
The story follows three working-class best friends—Kat, Daisy, and Jojo—as they navigate love, friendship, and big dreams while working in a small-town pizza joint. If you remember the movie, it's that same slice of life, just moved to the stage. The show is built around a jukebox score of '80s and '90s megahits, with songs originally recorded by artists like Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, and John Cougar Mellencamp. You'll recognize titles like "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Hold On," and "Manic Monday" woven into the story.
It's billed as a feel-good spectacle full of nostalgia, heart, and high-energy fun. Stage Scene LA called it a "surefire hit" with "one show-stopping dance sequence after another," and NJ Stage described it as "funny, heartwarming and nostalgic." Between the familiar songs and the three-friend dynamic, it's the kind of show that leans into the comfort of things you already know.

The production runs for three days, November 20-22, at the Winspear Opera House, part of the AT&T Performing Arts Center at 2403 Flora Street in Dallas. It's the first show of the Broadway at the Center's new season, so it's a good spot to get a sense of what's coming to the center this year.
