A stand-up and live music experience blending community band and summer camp nostalgia.
Josh Johnson brings his Comedy Band Camp to the Winspear Opera House on Saturday, April 10, 2027. It's a stand-up and live music experience that blends the feeling of playing in one big band with the nostalgia of summer camp — the camp experience Johnson never had, so he built it for the audience instead. The show is presented by the AT&T Performing Arts Center and Icon Live.
On the surface, it's a comedy show, but the live music is built right into the format rather than just playing in the gaps. The whole thing is built around that camp theme, and Johnson is the one leading the way. If you've seen his stand-up before, you know he does a lot of his own music, and this is that idea taken to a larger scale. The nostalgia for summer camp is the thread that holds it together, and the live band is the engine that drives it.
