Long Beach rock trio Chase Petra performs live at AM/FM Dallas, supported by JER and Idkconundrum.
Chase Petra play AM/FM Dallas on Tuesday, November 17, with JER and Idkconundrum opening. It's a Long Beach trio that pulls from rock, emo, and pop, and they've spent the last few years working around a metamorphic mindset about growth. Their debut album, Liminal, came out in 2019 and helped put them on the map as one of the more interesting new acts coming out of the underground. The band is fronted by vocalist and guitarist Hunter Allen, with drummer Evan Schaid and bassist Brooke Dickson rounding out the lineup.
Their sound has been called "quarter-life-crisis pop," a description that fits the way they write. Their new single, "Centrifugal Force," continues that thread, grappling with the responsibilities of adulthood. It's the same kind of ground they've been on for a while, and it's a good place to start if you're coming to them for the first time.
They've played Dallas before, too. They were on the idobi Radio Summer School bill at House of Blues Dallas, sharing the stage with Honey Revenge and a few others, so this isn't their first time through town. This time they're bringing JER and Idkconundrum along to open the night.
