Whitmore is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Montrose, Lee County, Iowa, where he still lives on the family farm. He's put out six full-length albums that pull from country, blues, folk and punk — from 2003's Hymns for the Hopeless on Southern Records to 2015's Radium Death on ANTI-, with 2018's Kilonova being a collection of cover songs. He often performs as a solo act with just a banjo and a bass drum, and has toured widely with acts like Frank Turner, Trampled By Turtles, Clutch and Chris Cornell, playing stages including Stagecoach Fest, Byron Bluesfest in Australia and End of the Road Fest in the UK.
