One-time workshop with artist Michelle Boerio to practice basic watercolor techniques and create festive postcards, with all supplies provided.
Watercolor Postcards is a one-time workshop at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Sunday, November 15, from 2 PM to 4 PM. It's held in the Wells Barn, so you'll be working inside the grounds rather than in the main glasshouses.
The session is built around two things: practicing basic watercolor techniques and using those skills to make a set of festive postcards. You'll work with watercolor and drawing materials to put them together, and you take home your own hand-made cards when you're done. It's a single-session class, not a multi-week course, so you get the whole thing in one afternoon.
Michelle Boerio leads the workshop. She's a visual artist and educator based here in Columbus, and she splits her time between her own studio practice and teaching students of all ages. She earned her BFA from the Ohio State University in 2021, with a focus on painting and drawing, and later got an MA in museum education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. That background in both making art and teaching it is exactly what you want for a workshop like this.

One of the best parts is that you don't need any prior art experience to join inโthe basics are part of the session, and Boerio provides all the supplies, so you just have to show up. The workshop runs from 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, November 15, at the Wells Barn in the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens; tickets are $45, or $40 for members.
