Evening of illuminated Dale Chihuly glass installations with docent-led tours and a live acoustic music performance.
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is hosting another Chihuly Night on Saturday, November 7, from 6 PM to 10 PM. The Conservatory houses the largest private collection of Dale Chihuly artwork in any botanical setting in the United States, and these nights are when you can see it after dark. Seventeen installations are lit up, which changes the whole feel of the place compared to a daytime visit—the glass glows against the plants and the interior of the Conservatory.
If you want more than just walking around, there are docent-led guided tours of the Chihuly collection. They run for 45 minutes and start at 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00 PM, so you can pick the one that fits your arrival. The tours walk through the installations and go into the history of Chihuly's work with glass as an art medium. Pre-registration is recommended if you're planning on one.
Later in the evening, there's live music. Starlit Ways, an acoustic duo with singer Rose Nkechi and guitarist Chris Glover, plays from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. The Botanica Gift Shop, The Garden Cafe, and a cash bar stay open throughout the night, and parking is free.
