UniverSoul Circus returns with its big-top production 'WE ALL BELONG', blending circus acts, music and dance to celebrate the spirit of the Harlem Renaissance, Motown, Soul Train and hip hop.
UniverSoul Circus returns to Columbus starting Thursday, Oct. 29, at Historic Crew Stadium in the Linden neighborhood. They'll be there through Sunday, Nov. 8, with their big top production WE ALL BELONG.
The show is built around the Caribbean Street Carnival, which brings 20-foot dancing puppets, fire-breathing stilt dancers, and folklore characters. Comedy comes from Fresh the Clownsss, and the international acts include Double Vision, a strongman hand-balancing duo from the Dominican Republic, and Zhukau Swing, a high-flying acrobatic act from Russia.
Founded in Atlanta in 1994 by Cedric Walker, UniverSoul Circus blends circus arts, music, theatrical storytelling, and global cultural influences into an interactive live experience for audiences of all ages, staged under the company's purple and yellow big top. WE ALL BELONG celebrates the music and spirit of the Harlem Renaissance, Motown, Soul Train, and hip hop to bridge generations and borders. Walker says the show aims to remind audiences that music, movement, laughter, culture, and human connection blur the lines between us. The production also brings The City Is The Stage, an initiative of pop-up performances and community appearances throughout the region.
