Recital by the trombone studio members of the Ohio State University School of Music, performing ensemble works.
The Trombone Choir takes the stage at Timashev Room 160 on Monday, November 9, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. It's a student recital put on by the members of the trombone studio at the School of Music, and the program is built around ensemble works—pieces written for a group of trombones playing together rather than a single soloist. If you've never heard a full section of them in one room, it's a distinct sound, all that low brass working in unison.
This isn't a one-off. It's part of the School of Music's series of studio recitals, where different instrument groups take turns stepping into the spotlight. The trombone choir shares the calendar with similar evenings like the Violin and Viola Studios Recital, the Saxophone Studio Recital, and the Flute Studio Recital, so this is one of several chances to catch the students performing in a group setting throughout the term.

Arps Garage is just north of the Timashev Music building and is open to visitors Monday through Friday after 4 PM and on weekends. If that doesn't work, the Ohio Union South Garage is south of the building and stays open 24/7. The recital runs from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, November 9, at Timashev Room 160, 1900 College Rd N, Columbus OH 43210.
