Benefit show by Sadie Dupuis (Sad13) and Dylan Baldi (Cloud Nothings) at the Parsons Avenue bookstore and cafe, raising funds for Two Dollar HQ.
Sadie Dupuis and Dylan Baldi play Two Dollar Radio HQ on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 7 PM. It's a fundraiser for the venue, which recently reopened under a new ownership structure after extensive renovations.
Dupuis and Baldi have a long-running Halloween tradition: in the early pandemic years, they started watching a different horror series each year, and they've streamed shows like Scream and Saw together. That horror streak runs into their music, too. Dupuis released 1331 in July under her Sad13 moniker, and the cover art came from a photography book Baldi gave her, which featured a figure dressed as the grim reaper at protests. Baldi's next album with Cloud Nothings, What Kind of Hell Did You Survive?, is due late January on Pure Noise and is rooted in hard rock and metal.
Dupuis has a history with the venue. She first discovered Two Dollar HQ not long after the bookstore and cafe opened in 2017, while touring with Speedy Ortiz, and returned in 2018 to read from her debut poetry collection, Mouthguard. This show brings her back to the Parsons Avenue shop as a performer, this time sharing the bill with Baldi.
