Concert by Los Angeles punk and indie rock songwriter Roe Kapara, headlining his 'Roe on the Roed' tour at Rumba Cafe.
Roe Kapara plays Rumba Cafe on Monday, November 16, at 7:30 PM. He's a Los Angeles-based songwriter originally from St. Louis, and this stop is part of his Roe on the Roed tour.
Kapara is signed to Epitaph Records, a label known for punk and hardcore, and that punk ethos runs through his work. He blends it with indie rock, so you get the energy of a loud guitar band with a focus on the songwriting. He's put out an EP, Big Cigars and Satin Shorts, and a single called "Dumb," which takes a look at modern life with sharp lyrics and explosive riffs. If you've caught him before, you know the sound—punchy, direct, and built around the song.
Coming from St. Louis and now based in LA, he's touring his new material across the country, and the Columbus date is one of those stops. The set will be built around the songs from Big Cigars and Satin Shorts and "Dumb," so it's a good chance to hear the new stuff live.
