Olivier and Tony Award-winning musical about the secret 1943 mission that turned the tide of World War II.
Operation Mincemeat plays the Ohio Theatre from January 5 to 10, 2027. It's a Tony Award-winning musical about a secret WWII mission, and it's coming to Columbus after a run that's picked up a fair bit of noise on both sides of the Atlantic.
The story is set in 1943 and follows a real-life intelligence operation: a stolen corpse, a fake love letter, and Ian Fleming—the man who'd later write James Bond—working together to mislead the Axis powers and turn the tide of the war. It's billed as a fast-paced, hilarious spy caper, and the original Broadway cast is coming with it: Claire-Marie Hall, Natasha Hodgson, David Cumming, Zoë Roberts, and Jak Malone. The show comes from the SpitLip team of Cumming, Felix Hagan, Hodgson, and Roberts, with direction by Olivier Award nominee Robert Hastie and choreography by Jenny Arnold.
It's had a long road to get here. Since its 2019 premiere at the New Diorama Theatre, it's been nominated for 67 awards and won 13, including Best Musical three times at the Olivier Awards. On Broadway, Jak Malone took home Best Featured Actor in a Musical. It's also been called the best-reviewed show in West End history, with 88 five-star reviews, and Entertainment Weekly named it the #1 Broadway Show of 2025. The fans have even given themselves a nickname: 'Mincefluencers.'
