Drop-in open paint session at the DIY art studio Brush Crazy, where you can pick a project and paint at your own pace.
Brush Crazy Art Studio is hosting an Open Paint Party this Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM to 3 PM. It's a drop-in session, so you don't need to commit to a specific time—you just show up when you can and work at your own pace. The studio is at 1299 Bethel Road in Columbus.
If you've never been, Brush Crazy is a DIY art studio that keeps a wide range of hands-on creative classes and projects for all ages. The open paint sessions are the most flexible way to use the space: you pick your project and paint it your own way, rather than following a set lesson. There are plenty of options to choose from—canvas, wood, ceramic, candle making, and clay—so you can work with whatever medium you're in the mood for. You're also encouraged to bring your own beverages and snacks, which makes it easy to turn a few hours of painting into a longer afternoon with friends.
Beyond the open sessions, the studio runs a full calendar of classes, including painting ceramics, mosaics, marbling, and a Paint and Karaoke night. It's a place that works for a lot of different skill levels, from people who just want to mess around with some paint to those who want to walk away with something finished. The studio is open Wednesday through Sunday, 1 PM to 8 PM, and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
