Family-friendly falconry demonstration with personal introductions to falcons, owls, hawks and buzzards, included with general admission.
Ohio Falconry School is coming to the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, December 30, 2026. They'll be set up in the Garden Pavilion, and there are two sessions to choose from: one at 11 AM and another at 2 PM. Both are included with general admission, so if you're already spending the day at the conservatory, this is just one more thing to add to the itinerary.
The school introduces visitors to falconry, which they describe as one of the world's most ancient sports, and to the birds of prey used in it. It's a hands-on introduction rather than a distant presentation: you'll get personal introductions with falcons, owls, hawks, and buzzards. The sessions are family-friendly, and there's no registration required, so you can just walk up when you're ready.
Since it's held inside the conservatory, the bird demos are only one part of the day. Around the venue, you can walk through the plant collections, check out the current exhibitions, and stop by the Botanica Gift Shop & Greenhouse. There's also the Garden Café on site if you want to grab a bite or a drink before or after the session. If you're bringing the kids, the whole setup works well as a full afternoon out.
