Justin Nozuka plays the Rumba Cafe in Columbus, presented by Celebrity Etc.
Justin Nozuka plays Rumba Cafe on Monday, November 2, presented by Celebrity Etc. He's a singer and songwriter who grew up in Toronto within a musical family, and he first found a wide audience with his debut album, Holly, which went gold. Since then, he's played festivals like Glastonbury and Fuji Rock, so he's no stranger to a big stage.
If you've only heard his early stuff, you'll notice his sound has shifted over the years. He started with acoustic, folk-leaning records like You I Wind Land and Sea, which earned him a Juno nomination. More recent releases move into alternative R&B, so the set will likely pull from both ends of that arcβthe folk-inflected songs from the early days and the R&B direction he's taken since. It's a good way to hear how his writing has changed over the course of his career.
