Holywatr performs their Deo Gratias Tour at Newport Music Hall, blending nu metal, emo and hardcore influences.
Holywatr bring their Deo Gratias Tour to Newport Music Hall on Monday, October 19, with doors opening at 7 PM. The Columbus date is presented by PromoWest Productions and is open to all ages.
If you're not familiar with them, Holywatr play a gritty blend of nu metal, emo and hardcore, drawing on alt-rock and metal legends like Deftones. They're coming off a viral run with the singles "Without U," "Loose Ends," "Fade" and "Nail Polish," which have racked up millions of streams and built a following of more than half a million monthly listeners. They're currently gearing up to drop a new full-length project, so this tour arrives while they're still working toward that.
That mix of nu metal and emo puts them in a specific pocket of the heavy scene, and the Deftones reference gives you a good sense of the territory they're in—think heavy, atmospheric riffs and a bit of a dark, moody edge. The singles that put them on the map are the songs they've been touring, and they're the ones that have kept their numbers climbing over the last few months.
