Kurt Vile and The Violators play Newport Music Hall with Twisted Teens on the 'KVS Been Good to Me' tour.
Kurt Vile and The Violators play Newport Music Hall on Thursday, November 5, with Twisted Teens opening. The show is presented by WCBE.
Vile has built a reputation on a very particular kind of guitar work—fingerpicked lines that lean into psychedelic folk—paired with laconic vocals and introspective songwriting. You'll likely hear fan favorites like "Pretty Pimpin'" alongside tracks from across his discography, so the set should pull from more than just the new material.
That new material comes from Philadelphia's Been Good to Me, released in 2026 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the founding of America in his hometown. Vile described it as his "bringing it all back home to Philly" record, and he's called it his best vocal, electric guitar, and most organic work to date. He produced most of it himself, with help from Adam Langellotti, Matthew Jugenheimer, Kyle Spence, Jesse Trbovrich, and Rob Schnapf. The title track is an ode to Philadelphia, and "Chance to Bleed" brings in Memphis guests Natalie Hoffman and Greg Cartwright, with a video shot at the Philly venue Kung Fu Necktime and a cameo by local legend Schoolly D.
