32nd annual Halloween concert of the School of Music, with costumed student groups playing movie and TV themes, pop and classical spoofs.
HalleBOOia! returns to Weigel Auditorium on Friday, October 30, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. It's the School of Music's 32nd annual Halloween concert, a night where student musicians trade their usual stage wear for full Halloween costumes. The student groups run the whole show, and the music covers a lot of ground: movie and TV themes, contemporary pop, folk, and classical music spoofs. The organizers encourage the audience to come in costume too, so you can dress up and fit right in.
The lineup is a long one, with student ensembles from across the school taking turns. The Fellowship of the Horns, The Windflowers Flute Quartet, and The Common Thread—the double reed studios—all have their own sets. Brutus's Brutes brings the euphonium and tuba studio, while The Bloom and Doom Gang handles the trumpet studio. Lizzy and Lucas perform as a guitar and vocal duo, and CELLOhio brings the cello. The Flute Troupe, Graduate Brass Quintet, Scarlet Saxophone Quartet, Percussion Club, and the Buckeye Basses round out the bill. With that many groups, you'll hear a wide range of instruments and styles in a single evening.
