Free baking class for home bakers on the science of gluten-free techniques, making holiday rolls without gluten, wheat, dairy, egg, nuts, soy or sesame.
Gluten Free Holiday Favorites is a baking class at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Saturday, December 5, from 2 PM to 5 PM. It's held in the AEP Foundation Education Pavilion, and the focus is on two holiday staples: cinnamon rolls and potato dinner rolls. Both are made gluten-free.
The class is aimed at home bakers who find gluten-free baking challenging. Rather than just handing you a recipe, it works its way through the science behind the techniques that lift gluten-free bakes, so you'll walk away understanding why things happen the way they do instead of just following a list of steps. That's the part that actually sticksโknowing how to adjust things when a recipe isn't behaving.
One thing that sets this apart is how inclusive the ingredients are. The session is entirely free of gluten, wheat, dairy, egg, nuts, soy, and sesame. If you're baking for a household with multiple allergies or restrictions, it's a rare chance to learn recipes that work for everyone at the table without having to make three different versions of the same dish. You'll get to make cinnamon rolls and potato dinner rolls, two of the most classic holiday sides, both stripped of the common allergens that usually make them a no-go.
