A slow-pitch softball tournament with a Halloween theme, featuring costumes and spooky fun on the field.
Friday Night Frights takes over Lou Berliner Sports Park on Friday, October 23, for a slow-pitch softball tournament that leans hard into the Halloween season. It's run by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, and the whole thing is built around mixing the game with a bit of October spiritโcostumes and spooky fun on the field are a big part of the draw.
If you've played slow-pitch around town, you know the drill: it's a fall competition where the costumes are as much a part of the day as the batting order. The tournament is held at Lou Berliner, located at 325 Greenlawn Ave. in Columbus, and it's a team event, so you'll need to get a crew together rather than signing up on your own.
One thing to keep in mind is that you can't just show up on the day. Teams have to register in advance to play, and the window for that is October 3 through October 17. If you're planning on entering, you'll want to get your roster sorted and your spot locked in well before the tournament actually kicks off on the 23rd.

Entry is $210 per team. With the registration deadline hitting on October 17, you've got a few weeks to round up your players and get signed up before the fields at Lou Berliner fill up.
