Live show by Flooding with support from Wujeria, Frances Dunlap's alternative rock and trip-hop project, at Rumba Cafe.
Wujeria plays Rumba Cafe on Thursday, October 29, with Flooding on the bill. The show is presented by Celebrity Etc.
Wujeria is the alternative rock and trip-hop project of Frances Dunlap, and for a long time it was a solo one. She recorded and created the music over several years in her bedroom in Dayton, Ohio, and her father, James Dunlap, mixed and mastered it. The self-titled album came out in October 2025 as a 15-track record that draws on childhood nostalgia and imagery of flying creatures, flowers and trees. It's a long album, and it's the one the project has been built around.
That bedroom project has recently moved onto the stage as a four-piece. Frances leads the band, with Leo on lead guitar, Brent on bass and Hamilton on drums. The sound they're working with sits across dream pop, alternative, and trip hop, so it's a mix of melodic guitar and the kind of beat-driven, atmospheric textures you'd expect from the trip-hop side of things. The album itself is a year old by the time this show rolls around, so it's the record they're playing from.
