Beginner DIY workshop where each guest gets the supplies and instructions to make their own mala bracelets.
Studio 614 is hosting a DIY Mala Bracelet Workshop on Thursday, October 22, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a beginner-friendly session, so you don't need any previous experience with jewelry making or knotting to join in. The focus is on making mala bracelets—beaded bracelets traditionally used for meditation and mindfulness—and the workshop is set up so you can walk in and leave with something you actually made yourself.
One of the best parts is that you don't have to bring a thing. Every guest gets all the supplies they'll need on the table, and the instructions are given step-by-step, so you're guided through the process from the first bead to the final knot. If you've ever wanted to try making your own jewelry but didn't know where to start or didn't want to buy a whole kit just for one project, this is a good way to dip your toes in. You'll get to pick out your beads and work your way through the assembly at your own pace.
Beyond the bracelets, the workshop also covers macrame plant hangers, so if you're more into home decor than jewelry, you can lean into that side of the craft instead. Both projects use similar hand-work, and the beginner-friendly approach applies to both. It's a low-pressure environment where the goal is just to spend a couple of hours working with your hands and coming home with a finished piece.
