Strictly 21+ Halloween party with goth, darkwave, new wave, post-punk and industrial music from two DJs, with costumes encouraged.
Crimewave takes over Rumba Cafe on Saturday, October 31, for a night of goth, darkwave, new wave, post-punk and industrial music. It's part of the cafe's Halloween programming, presented by Celebrity Etc and What The Dance, and the organizers are leaning into the holiday theme, inviting guests to "dive into the shadows" and "descend into the darkness."
Behind the decks are DJ Kat Fadigan and DJ Mimodrome666, who'll be spinning through those five styles. The set draws from a range of eras and sounds: the synth-pop of Depeche Mode, the post-punk of The Cure, the industrial edge of Nine Inch Nails, and the darker, dancefloor-ready textures of Mareux, Molchat Doma and Boy Harsher. It's a mix that spans the classics and the more recent wave of darkwave, so the music should hold up whether you're there for the 80s stuff or the newer stuff coming out of the scene.
