Informal monthly craft session on stamp carving at Franklin Park Conservatory, open to those with no prior craft experience.
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is hosting Crafts Uncorked: Stamp Carving on Wednesday, November 18, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's part of the Crafts Uncorked series, which is a regular gathering at the Conservatory that puts a different craft style on the table every month. This time around, the focus is stamp carving.
If you've never heard of Crafts Uncorked, the setup is pretty straightforward: each month they pick a new craft to explore, and the instruction is kept relaxed and informal. The whole point is to try something new without it feeling like a formal class, so you can just hang out and make things. They also make it clear that no prior craft experience is needed to take part, which is nice if you've never touched a carving tool in your life.
Stamp carving is a great one for that, too. You start with a block of rubber and carve out your design, and once you're done, you've got a stamp you can use over and over again on paper, fabric, or whatever else you're into. It's the kind of project where you can be as simple or as detailed as you want, and you walk away with something you actually made.

Since it's part of a series, this is just one of the different crafts they cycle through. If you're not feeling stamp carving, there'll be something else next month. The session runs from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 18, at the Conservatory. It's $30 for the general public and $24 for members.
