Ohio's largest STEAM celebration with hands-on events across the state, culminating in the Big Science Celebration at COSI.
COSI is hosting the COSI Science Festival from April 25 to May 1, 2027, a seven-day run that stretches across the city and beyond. It's Ohio's largest STEAM celebration, put together by COSI and held in partnership with local nonprofits, businesses, and educational institutions. The programming is built for all ages, with hands-on events popping up in 24 Central Ohio communities, and thousands of 'Learning Lunchboxes'—interactive kits with five STEAM activities—sent out to schools, libraries, and community centers.
Everything builds toward the Big Science Celebration on Saturday, May 1, which takes over the Scioto Peninsula from 11 AM to 5 PM. That's the high-energy outdoor part of the festival, with more than 100 exhibitor stations, live performances, and food trucks. It's run rain or shine by STEAM professionals, researchers, and experts from Central Ohio and beyond. Each year, the festival also names five 'STEAM Stars'—everyday innovators who are recognized during the celebration.
