Artist conversation with Dina Zaman, former artist of the center's 'Lore' exhibition, at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center.
Dina Zaman is coming to the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center on Thursday, October 29, for a conversation about her work. It's part of the Conversations and Coffee series, and the talk runs from 12 PM to 1:30 PM.
Dina was the artist behind Lore, the exhibition that recently held the center's main gallery. If you caught that show while it was up, this is your chance to hear her talk through it. If you missed it, it's a good way to get a sense of the work anyway. The conversation is built around Lore, so the focus will be on that particular body of work.
The center itself is run by Columbus Recreation and Parks, and it's an adult arts center that keeps a lot of different things under one roof. They offer classes in painting, jewelry, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and pottery, and they have two galleries that show work by Ohio artists. There's also a gift shop stocked with handmade pieces from the center's students and instructors. They run an Artist in Residence program focused on nature, wellness, and creativity, and they acknowledge the Ohio Arts Council for its support of the classes and workshops. Dina's Lore was the main gallery's most recent exhibition, so she's a natural fit for the conversation.
