Evening with debut author Devon Halliday in conversation with Lee Martin to celebrate her novel 'To Stay, To Stay, To Stay'.
Devon Halliday will be at Prologue Bookshop on Friday, November 6, for an evening in honor of her debut novel, To Stay, To Stay, To Stay. It's a conversation rather than a reading, and she'll be joined by Lee Martin, who teaches in the MFA program at The Ohio State University. The talk runs for about an hour, and Prologue is organizing the whole thing.
To Stay, To Stay, To Stay has already picked up some attentionโit was longlisted for the Center for Fiction 2026 First Novel Prize. Halliday is a Pushcart Prize winner and a Rona Jaffe Foundation Graduate Fellow, and her writing has appeared in Ploughshares, One Story, Liberties, and the Los Angeles Review of Books. This is her first novel, so the evening is built around it.
Lee Martin brings his own weight to the conversation. He's a Pulitzer Prize Finalist and the author of The Bright Forever, and he won the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction. Between Halliday's debut and Martin's background, the talk should get into the actual work of writing and the process behind a first novel.
