Jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant brings her new project 'Oh Snap' to the Wexner Center, closing the venue's 2026-27 Jazz Series.
Cécile McLorin Salvant returns to the Wexner Center for the Arts on Thursday, April 1, 2027, with her new jazz project Oh Snap. She first played the Wexner in 2024, and this appearance closes the venue's 2026-27 Jazz Series.
Salvant is a composer, singer, and visual artist who pulls from vaudeville, blues, folk traditions, theatre, jazz, and baroque music. She won the Thelonious Monk competition in 2010 and has won Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album for three consecutive records: The Window, Dreams and Daggers, and For One to Love. In 2020, she received the MacArthur Fellowship and the Doris Duke Artist Award. Her more recent releases, Ghost Song (2022) and Mélusine (2023), each earned two Grammy nominations. Oh Snap came out in September 2025 and was nominated for Jazz FM Awards Album of the Year.
Her work is known for a blend of storytelling, theatricality, and jazz artistry, weaving together original compositions, unexpected repertoire, and sharp wit. Oh Snap is the project she'll be performing here, and it's the latest in a run of albums that has seen her move from the Monk competition to the MacArthur Fellowship.
