Evening of anthemic pop-rock songs by Coldplay and Imagine Dragons played by a string quartet under LED candles at the Columbus Museum of Art.
Candlelight: Coldplay & Imagine Dragons opens at the Columbus Museum of Art on January 8, 2027, and runs through March 7. Presented by Fever, it's a string quartet performing pop rock under the light of about 10,000 LED candles. The whole thing lasts 65 minutes.
The set splits its time between two bands. From Coldplay, the quartet plays Clocks, Something Just Like This, Adventure of a Lifetime, Fix You, The Scientist, feelslikeimfallinginlove, Viva la Vida, and A Sky Full of Stars. From Imagine Dragons, they take on Radioactive, Eyes Closed, Nice to Meet You, Follow You, Bad Liar, and Believer. That's 14 songs in a little over an hour, so the pace stays pretty brisk.
Since it's a string quartet, these are all instrumental versions of the originals. You'll recognize the melodies, but the sound is stripped back to strings rather than the full band production. The LED candles are the main visual, and the performance is recommended for audiences aged 8 and over, with anyone under 16 needing to be accompanied by an adult.
