Columbus artist Joseph Leonard shares his creative process and Art in Spirits cocktail collaboration during Gallery Hop.
Joseph Leonard is talking about his work at Soul at The Joseph on Saturday, October 17, from 5 PM to 7 PM. It's part of a series of artist talks tied to Art in Spirits, a new fall cocktail menu that brings art into the art of the cocktail. The menu draws inspiration from the work of local artists Gay Fad Studios, Joseph Leonard, and Joss Ford, in partnership with Beam Suntory.
During the talk, Leonard will share his creative process and discuss the Art in Spirits collaboration. It's a chance to hear how his work translated into a drink, and to get a look at how he approaches his practice. The talk is one of several supporting the menu, so it's a good entry point if you're interested in the intersection of the city's art and its cocktail scene.
There's more to the project than just the menu. Joss Ford, one of the artists involved, is taking over the bar to mix cocktails inspired by his own photography. The whole thing is rounded out by a holiday tree lighting at The Joseph in the Short North, so the talk sits within a larger set of events happening around the museum this fall.
