Free literary talk by bookseller Gary Lovely at the Thurber Center, part of the monthly Aldus Society series.
Gary Lovely is the featured guest for the Aldus Society's literary talk on Thursday, April 8, at the Thurber Center in Columbus. If you've spent any time in the city's independent bookstore scene, you've likely come across his name. He's worked with Prologue Books, Two Dollar Radio Headquarters, and Abraham Associates, and he sits on the board of the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association. He's also written about books for the New York Times, Literary Hub, BuzzFeed Books, and Columbus Monthly.
The Aldus Society is central Ohio's hub for book lovers, and they put on free literary events and author talks every month for readers, book collectors, writers, and anyone who loves the printed word. They're an affiliate of the Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies, so their programming tends to lean toward the bibliophilic side of thingsβthe kind of talk that's as much about the book as a physical object as it is about the writing inside. This particular talk is part of a series that runs on the second Thursday of the month.

Lovely's ties to the local bookstore community give him a good vantage point on the city's literary life, so this is a chance to hear him talk shop in person. The event is free, and it's held at the Thurber Center, 91 Jefferson Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215. Doors open at 7 PM, and the presentations start at 7:30 PM, so you've got a half-hour to settle in before things get underway.
