A family-friendly kids' run expo and race for young runners in downtown Columbus, presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks.
The 38th Annual Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon Kids' Run is back at North Bank Park on Saturday, October 17. It's a morning for young runners in downtown Columbus, presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks in partnership with the Columbus Marathon and sponsored by White Castle.
The morning is split into two parts. The Kids' Run Expo runs from 9:30 to 11 AM, and the run itself kicks off at 11 AM. If you're bringing kids, arriving early for the expo is the moveβit gives you plenty of time to get sorted before the starting gun goes off. The whole thing wraps up by 12:30 PM, so it's a morning activity that still leaves the rest of your Saturday open.
As for what it is, the organizers describe it as a fun, welcoming way for young runners to build healthy habits, gain confidence, and experience the excitement of race day in the heart of downtown Columbus. It's designed to be an accessible entry point for kids who might be new to running, rather than a high-pressure competition. The partnership with the Columbus Marathon ties it into the city's larger race tradition, and the sponsorship from White Castle adds a local touch to the day.
