A family-friendly shadow puppet show performed by Actor's Shadow Puppet Company as part of the Puppet Tuesdays series.
Actor's Shadow Puppet Company takes the stage at VisArt Video on Tuesday, October 6, with a show titled A Midnight Dreary - From the Mind of Edgar Allan Poe. It's part of Puppet Tuesdays, a series of puppet shows and workshops that fills every Tuesday in September and October 2026. The whole run is family-friendly, so it works as a low-stakes afternoon outing with kids.
This particular show draws from the work of Edgar Allan Poe, and since it's a shadow puppet production, you'll see figures cast in silhouette against a screen rather than puppets you can see in the round. The series also includes workshops alongside the performances, so there's a chance to see how the things are made as well as watch them in action.
VisArt Video is at 3104 Eastway Drive in Charlotte. Cafe VisArt stays open during the shows, so you can grab snacks and drinks while you're there. The program is supported by Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County.

Admission is free. The show starts at 4 PM, and since it's part of a series that runs every Tuesday throughout September and October, you can catch this one and then come back for others later in the month. If you're bringing kids, the family-friendly label holds—it's an easy way to spend a Tuesday afternoon without spending a dime.
