A holiday spectacle where aerial acrobats and circus performers soar above the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra to festive music.
Cirque de Noël returns to the Knight Theater this December, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's annual holiday event. It's built around Cirque de la Symphonie, a production that's been bringing circus acts into the music hall for more than 15 years. The premise is straightforward: aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen perform to live symphony music, with the orchestra playing right there in the room.
The cast is a mix of world record holders, gold medal winners from international competitions, Olympians, and some of the most experienced circus talent you'll see in the city. Each act is choreographed in collaboration with the maestro, and the whole show is staged to fit the shared space of the orchestra and the circus. It's billed as the moment awe-inspiring acrobatics meet your favorite holiday music, pairing thrilling new acts with beloved favorites.
