A Welsh-language stage adaptation by Frân Wen that blends a love story, speculative thriller and political reckoning, directed by Gethin Evans.
Frân Wen bring Wythnos Yng Nghymru Fydd to the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff on Thursday 29 October, with a matinee and evening performance following on Friday 30 October. It's a Welsh-language production, part of a short run in the Main House.
The play is an adaptation of Islwyn Ffowc Elis's classic novel, reimagined here as a blend of love story, speculative thriller and political reckoning. It follows Ifan, a man who keeps everyone at arm's length except Mair, until global politics crash into rural North Wales and an unexpected experiment catapults him into the future twice. Stranded in two possible versions of Wales' future, he's forced to confront what choices made in the present could mean for generations to come. Mared Llywelyn wrote the adaptation and Gethin Evans directed it.
