Live music gig by The Smyths, a tribute act to The Smiths, performing at TramShed.
The Smyths play TramShed on Friday 8 January 2027, as part of their Strangeways Tour. They're a tribute to The Smiths, and they've been at it since 2003, which makes them the UK's longest-established tribute to the band. Over the years they've played at home, abroad, and at festivals including Glastonbury, and they're regularly cited as one of the world's best tribute acts.
Their whole thing is recreating The Smiths' live performances from 1982 to 1987, so the set leans on the classics: 'This Charming Man', 'How Soon Is Now', 'Panic', 'Big Mouth Strikes Again' and 'What Difference Does It Make'. They describe themselves as an outstandingly accurate and thrilling tribute to the band's live sound and feeling, and they're now in their eighth year of touring.
