A live orchestra reimagines dancehall, soca and reggae anthems with live singers and performers, drawing on the roots of Kingston and the fire of soca.
The Reggae Orchestra play Tramshed on Saturday 3 April 2027, from 7pm to 10pm. It's a full-band setup: a live orchestra on stage alongside live singers and performers, all working together rather than one backing the other.
The set pulls from dancehall, soca and reggae, and the names they're covering should give you a good sense of the ground they cover. You'll hear Bob Marley, Sean Paul, Machel Montano, Shaggy and Toots & The Maytals — so it's a mix of roots reggae, dancehall and soca, all reimagined for an orchestral arrangement. They describe the show as drawing on the roots of Kingston and the fire of soca, and that's a fair summary of the range they're working with.
