A festive concert with seasonal favourites and orchestral showpieces celebrating the magic of Christmas, performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
The Magic of Christmas comes to BBC Hoddinott Hall on Friday 18 December, with two performances on the one day: a matinee at 15:00 and an evening show at 19:30. It's part of the BBC NOW Christmas Celebration series and the Wales Millennium Centre's festive programme, and it's a big one for the city's orchestral scene.
The BBC National Orchestra of Wales takes the stage, conducted by Euan Shields. They're joined by singer Wendy Ferguson, tenor Trystan Llŷr Griffiths, and BSL interpreter Julie Doyle. The programme pairs seasonal favourites with orchestral showpieces full of colour and sparkle, and it's described as warm, reflective and joyful. It's aimed at families, friends and anyone who likes marking Christmas through music, and presented as a chance to pause, listen and rejoice in the shared spirit of the season.
Both the matinee and the evening session are sold out, so you'll need to keep an eye on returns if you're hoping to get in. There's age guidance to keep in mind: no under-2s, and all under-16s must be seated with an adult aged 18 or above. For those with accessibility needs, there are four wheelchair and companion seats available in Row O.
