A tribute band recreates the sound and feel of a real Doors concert, performing classics such as 'Light My Fire' and 'Riders On The Storm'.
The Doors Alive play Tramshed on Saturday 20 February 2027, as part of their Celebrating 60 Years of The Doors tour. They're a London-based tribute to the 1960s Californian rock group, and they describe themselves as the world's most travelled act doing it. The whole point of the show is to recreate the sound, look, presence and feel of a real Doors concert, rather than just playing the songs.
They lean on the group's songbook to take the audience back in time, and the setlist pulls from the big ones: 'Light My Fire', 'When The Music's Over', 'Riders On The Storm' and 'The End'. Those four alone cover a fair bit of ground, from the psychedelic pop of the early years to the longer, more sprawling pieces that defined their live reputation. If you've only ever known the radio edits, hearing them played through in a live setting is a different experience.
The band is fronted by Mike Griffioen on vocals, with Buzz Allan on drums, Baz Meyer on guitar and Norbert Varga on keyboards. It's a four-piece that mirrors the original line-up, so the sound stays true to the record: the organ driving the melodies, the guitar cutting through, and the drums holding it together. The Celebrating 60 Years of The Doors title marks the anniversary of the band's formation, so the set is built around the songs that made them a name.
